I’M CURIOUS ABOUT PEOPLE AND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE LEAD DIFFERENTLY.

I’ve spent my career studying leadership and, more importantly, practicing it.

Today, I’m an Assistant City Manager leading in a complex organization where the problems rarely come with simple answers. My career has also taken me through education, parks and recreation, organizational development, research, and executive leadership.

Along the way, I’ve learned something:

The best leadership lessons rarely happen when everything goes according to plan.

They happen in the difficult conversation. The failed experiment. The unexpected challenge. The moment your team doesn’t respond the way you expected. The decision you wish you could make over.

Those are the moments I’m interested in.

With a PhD in Educational Leadership, a MBA, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, I bring an evidence-based approach to leadership development. But I also believe leadership shouldn’t feel like a textbook.

I’m a researcher who loves a good story. An executive who still asks, “What if?” A strategist who believes experimentation has a place in serious leadership. And a leadership practitioner who knows that sometimes the best way forward is to PAWS, and sometimes it’s to PLAY.

My goal isn’t to create leaders who have all the answers.

It’s to help leaders become more curious, intentional, adaptable, and confident when the answers aren’t obvious.
